Kendi Sesinden Gülsuyu - Gülensu

2009 yılının Haziran ayında İstanbul’un Anadolu yakasındaki Gülsuyu-Gülensu mahallesi sakinleri bir araştırma projesi olan Kültürel Aracılar ile tanıştı. Bir sene süren çalışmada kent merkezi dışındaki mahallelerdeki kültür üretimine bakan bu proje içinden zamanla farklı araştırma konuları ortaya çıktı; bunlardan biri de  kendini sakinlerinin emeği ile varetmiş mahallenin belleği oldu. Gülsuyu-Gülensu’yun geçmişine ve geleceğine dair mahalleli ile söyleşiler yapıldı.

Kendi Sesinden Gülsuyu Gülensu kitabı mahallesini üreten, kuran ve ileriye taşıyan 50 kişinin anlatısına ev sahipliği yapıyor. Mahalleye geliş zamanları, o dönemki toplumsal, ekonomik, kültürel yapılara ve durumlara dair gözlemleri, deneyimleri ve geleceğe bakışlarını içeren söyleşiler birbirinden bağımsız okunabilecekleri gibi, birbirleriyle kurdukları diyalog vesilesi ile bir organizmayı anlayabilmek adına da okunabilirler. Bu kitapta birçok araştırmaya konu olan Gülsuyu-Gülensu’yu sosyolog, şehir plancısı ya da mimarların dilinden değil, kendi sesinden, sakinlerinin dilinden okuyacaksınız.

Artist collective Oda Projesi from Istanbul, will "stand for" Gezi Park at Superkilen (Red Square) Norrebro on July 12th Friday at 3:30 pm, and invites you to join. Come by to stand silently as long as you can, to remember and rethink about all what is happening around Gezi Park in Istanbul.

A single man stood silently in Istanbul's Taksim Square for hours Monday night, defying police who broke up weekend anti-government protests with tear gas and water cannon and drawing hundreds of others to his vigil...

(M)other voices

Saturday July 13th, 11.30 am: Picnic event to launch "(M)other voices", Hareskoven:
Donoghue (artist, Rotterdam), Oda Projesi (artist's collaborative, Istanbul), Witte de With Centre for Contemporary Art (Rotterdam) and Astrid Noack's Atelier (Copenhagen) invite you for a summer's picnic to launch the long term research project (M)other voices: the maternal as an attitude, maternal thinking and the production of time and knowledge.

During the picnic we will discuss the notions of 'maternity' and 'motherhood' as possible
attitudes towards being-in-the-world, and the relations between hospitality, maternity and the figure of the Other. Each participant should bring something for themselves to eat and drink
and possibly a blanket to sit on.

Location: The ancient site of the contested groove stones
associated with fertility worship in 'the woods of the stones' at Lilla
Hareskov, Denmark. Meeting Place: Hareskov Train Station, 11:30 AM

Directions: From city centre Copenhagen, take the S-train A in
the direction of Farum. (Travel time from Copenhagen city centre to
the Hareskov train station approx. +/-10 min.) From Hareskov train
station we will walk together to the location. (approx. 1.7 km).

At ANA AIR -  Astrid Noack’s Atelier residency Oda Projesi with their project ANA, plans to work on the issue of "motherhood" and everyday life production also focusing on the resistance and occupy movement taking place in Istanbul; claiming that there are strategies and tactics to be learned from each other. A year ago Oda Projesi has launched its project http://bookofprofessions.blogspot.com/, and ANA project will create another aspect  in relation to this.  The inspiration for ANA project comes from the very need of Oda Projesi being as artist mothers and participating to this residency with their kids. Another important influence is from the artist Deidre M. Donoghue from Ada Collective, Rotterdam; who is currently working on a research project called (M)other Voices: The maternal as an attitude; maternal thinking & the production of art. Oda Projesi will participate in the research project.

TONGUE dil üzerine bir proje. Proje, 2009 yılında Berlin’de Kreuzberg sakinlerini dillerini birbirlerinden öğrenmeleri ve birbirlerine öğretmeleri üzerine davet eden; yeni ve varolan diller üzerine araştıran bir dil kursu olarak başladı. Birlikte sorular soruldu; bir dil kursunun sıradan yapısını ödünç alarak, gündelik hayatta dilin kullanımı üzerine düşünmeye çalışırsak neler olur? Eğer yeni bir dil kurmak için grupların dilleri yerine, bireylerin gündelik dillerini kullanmaya çalışırsak, bu nasıl mümkün olur? 

Bu sorularla birlikte oluşan dil kursu ardından, 50 TONGUE katılımcısının katılımı ile, cep kitabı büyüklüğünde, bir dil kitabı oluştu. Proje, sonraki aşamalarında farklı dillerin yaşandığı gruplarla da kelime arşivi olurşturmayı hedeflemektedir. Oda Projesi (Istanbul) ve Nadin Reschke (Berlin) ilk defa İstanbul’da TONGUE kitabının tanıtacak ve dil konusunu tartışmaya açacaklar.

Etkinlik Türkçe ve İngilizce olarak gerçekleşecektir.

TONGUE A GUIDED BOOK TOUR and Discussion    Oda Projesi & Nadin Reschke

TONGUE is a project about language. It started 2009 in Berlin as a language course in search for new and existing tongue spaces, inviting Kreuzberg neighbors and residents to learn and teach languages from and with each other. Together they asked: What happens if the ordinary form of a language course is borrowed to look at the way language is being used in daily life? How can one try to create a new language by taking the daily language of individuals, rather than the language of groups, as a starting point? Since then the project material developed into a book, a pocket size language learning tool with materials and contributions from more than 50 TONGUE partners. The project aims furthermore by reaching different language communities abroad creating a word archive. 
For the first time the initiators Oda Projesi (Istanbul) and Nadin Reschke (Berlin) introduce the TONGUE book in Istanbul, opening a discussion on language issues in Turkey.  The event will be held in Turkish and English language.
